Alpha

What is Alpha?

Alpha is an opportunity for anyone wishing to explore the Christian faith. The Alpha Course has been running for over 30 years, beginning at Holy Trinity Brompton in central London. Over 4 million people in the UK and 29 million worldwide have now attended an Alpha course!

Alpha at Rhyl

An Alpha course for those who want to find out more about Christian faith or for those who wish to refresh their understanding of Christian faith. The Course is provided free of charge and everyone is most welcome, even just to try the first session and see if it’s for you!  The evenings begin with food followed by a DVD presentation following the title for each week, followed by a time for conversation and ‘any questions?’ There is humour, no pressure to do more than just listen but also the freedom to ask anything you wish, about what you've seen and heard.

Our next alpha course in Rhyl

A date will be set in the near future - whether you want to explore what the Christian faith has to say in answer to the questions of life or perhaps deepen or refresh your Christian commitment - Alpha is for you!  The atmosphere is relaxed and unpressured, there's plenty of food for thought and many have found Alpha to be fun, helpful and a genuinely positive experience.

Our Alpha course will start soon with further details to come. The last course began on 12th January 2022.  Each afternoon and evening included food, an interesting video followed by conversation and an opportunity for questions.  If your life is a bit busy, it is still possibly to do the course even if you cannot make every session.

The talks are designed to engage and inspire conversation usually around 30 minutes long and delivered over 10 weeks. They explore the big issues around faith and unpack the basics of Christianity, addressing questions life; Who is Jesus? How can we have faith? Why and how do I pray? How does God guide us?

Probably the most important part of any Alpha: the chance to share thoughts and ideas on the topic and simply discuss it in a small group. There’s no obligation to say anything but it’s an opportunity to hear from others and contribute your own perspective in an honest, friendly and open environment.
